Friends

Tomorrow is the day where MU is going to play with Chelsea. This competition is the Community Shield and it is played by the team who won the EPL against the team who won the FA Cup last season. MU and Chelsea won the EPL and FA Cup respectively. So, after having not much football activity for the last few months, I certainly welcome this event and what's more, the EPL season is starting soon. As in REAL soon!!! I'm excited.

I went yamcha with Zi Jian just now. His gf apparently had some community service project to do. That's why he had time to go yamcha with me. But then again, I really respect him. Although he has a gf and seriously hectic schedule in his church and college work, yet, he can still have time for friends like me. So, Zi Jian, if you're reading this, this IS a compliment. Yes, it is.

I just thought, well, in school, I used to have lots of friends but after school ended, it seems they all fade away. Somehow. Everyone's busy with their own stuff and hardly hang around anymore. They've made new friends and then it's "bye bye" and "till we meet again" for the old ones. But, I guess that's just how life is.

I can't write anymore. Too much for the feeble brain of mine to think so many things at this time on a Saturday.

Yours,

Aaron

POLL!!!

I have just put up a poll. And me being such an ardent fan of football have made it about football (as usual). So, go there and vote for which team you think will win the EPL in the 07/08 season. And after that post a comment on what team you chose and why (entirely based on own free will). =)

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows

I spent the last couple of days reading the latest Harry Potter book.

In this book, it seems like a lot of things happen. Harry's owl, Moody, Snape and Dobby were killed. Then Harry inherited Godric Gryffindor's sword because Dumbledore willed it to him. But he was not allowed to have the sword because the Ministry claims that it did not belong to Dumbledore. Later a Patronus led him to the sword but as he was about to take it, the Horcrux (a part of Voldemort's soul) in a form of a locket strangled him. (The Ministry used the Polyjuice Potion on Umbridge to recover the Horcrux). When the locket was strangling Harry, Ron came to the rescue and destroyed the Horcrux with the sword. Another Horcrux was found in Gringotts in the form of Helge Hufflepuff's Cup (destroyed by Hermione) and another one at The Room of Requirement at Hogwarts where Harry used to hide his potions book. The diadem at the Room of Requirement was destroyed by Crabbe accidentally and he also killed himself. Later Harry discovered that he was also a Horcrux. This happened when Harry was a baby and Voldemort used Harry's blood with Lily's protection to resurrect himself. So this means that Voldemort cannot die if Harry is alive. So Harry went to the Forbidden Forest to find Voldemort. Then he opened the snitch that Dumbledore gave him and found the Resurrection Stone inside. He used it to awaken the spirits of his parents, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin. Then he allowed Voldemort to strike him with the Avada Kedavra curse (the worst of all the Unforgivable Curses and causes immediate death). Later, Harry woke up in the King's Cross Station and Dumbledore said that the Horcrux in him has been destroyed. The last Horcrux was Nagini who was killed by Neville with the sword. Dumbledore's wand was an Elder Wand which is the most powerful wand. When Malfoy disarmed Dumbledore, he became the master of the wand unknowingly. So when Harry took Malfoy's wand (Hermione accidentally broke Harry's wand), Harry became the new master. When Voldermort stroke Harry with the Avada Kedavra curse, the wand protected its master and the curse backfired and together with Harry's Expelliarmus spell killed Voldermort. The book ended with what happened nineteen years later. Harry married Ginny and had three children, James, Albus Severus and Lily. Ron married Hermione and had two children, Rose and Hugo. Neville became a Herbology professor. It's a happy ending in the end with all the bad people dead and the good people living happily ever after.

For those who haven't read the book, I hope I didn't spoil it for you :p

It's a fairly interesting book. And I didn't actually said everything that happened in the book because then it will be really long. Like I didn't say why the owl, Moody, Dobby and Snape were killed and how they were killed. Though I was really tempted to put in the one about the death of Snape. Why he was killed and so on. But I'm gonna let you read the book to find out yourself.

Yours,

Aaron

MU vs Seoul FC

Well, assignments almost done. Left around 1/4 more which I'll probably stay up the night to do. To make matters worst, the lecturer decided to give us a test which will count for the finals on Monday. Hmm.. Who says college life is not stressful? It seems I had more fun and less stress at school. I'm playing tomorrow morning so gotta get to church early for sound check and so on. If I stay up till late I'll probably not sleep much at all. Oh well...

Even with all the assignments and exams, I still watched the match between MU and Seoul FC. So I probably shouldn't complain about not having enough time eh? The match was entertaining especially in the first half. Ronaldo was brilliant and this lad really got a whole future ahead of him. The match ended 4-0 and at the end of the match Ronaldo was awarded MVP for United and one player from Seoul FC also got a MVP trophy. The cheer for Ronaldo was much louder than the one for the other guy (I'm sure what's his name). The stadium was packed. Just a friendly match can attract more people than the Asian Cup. (The stadium was more than half empty). So much for hosting it and not winning it and not attracting people.

I don't wanna spoil my mood thinking that because of this Asian Cup, MU couldn't come to Malaysia. I've got assignments to do and I don't want my mood to be spoilt.

Aaron

Church Responsibilities

I finally did something for my blog. At least now the counter hits work. Previously it remained zero all the way. I was thinking something wackier to put in for you guys but well I guess next time. I'm rushing through some assignments and church stuff. Seems like the busier I am in my studies, the busier I get in church. These are what I do at church.

Music ministry (Guitarist) during:-
-Youth meetings
-Sunday services (1st & 3rd Sundays)
-Sunday school (2nd & 4th Sundays)
-Prayer meetings

Youth leader

Tech-support (if I'm not playing for youth)

Hmm.. These are only my name-sake jobs. There are other jobs that require a lot of time to do as well. No wonder I hardly have time for myself. But all these are done for God and God alone so I'm not complaining. Just feel tired sometimes.

Assignments are piling up so gotta go...

Signing off,

Aaron

Malaysia vs Uzbekistan

Bad news for Malaysia yet again. This time it's a 5-0 loss to Uzbekistan. So much for a change of formation. Worst still, they are the host. I really feel embarrassed as a Malaysian. Now Norizan says that the Malaysian team has no quality. He took 2 matches with big losses to figure that out. What has he been doing? Does he watch the way his players play? I took 10 minutes in the first match to know that Malaysia can never survive.

Anyway, what's done is done. I shall not waste my time on useless players and coach. I've watched the new Harry Potter movie and I would say only this. I won't watch it again. I didn't read the book so I didn't really understand the movie. She had to explain it to me later. Maybe it will be alright if you've read the book. Or probably if you're some Harry Potter fan. Then, it is okay. I'm not saying the movie's no good. It just isn't very entertaining. Maybe it's just the fantasy thing. Or maybe I was more of a transformers fan. :p . But I don't really like reading this kind of books. I prefer non-fiction or horror or mystery kind of books. Those fantasy things don't really work out for me.

-Back to assignments-

Who You Love

A friend sent me an email with this story and I think it's a story that has a very meaningful twist. Here goes.

Who You Love

John Blanchard stood up from the bench, straightened his Army uniform, and studied the crowd of people making their way through Grand Central Station. He looked for the girl whose heart he knew, but whose face he didn't, the girl with the rose. His interest in her had begun thirteen months before in a Florida library. Taking a book off the shelf he found himself intrigued, not with the words of the book, but with the notes penciled in the margin. The soft handwriting reflected a thoughtful soul and insightful mind.

In front of the book, he discovered the previous owner's name, Miss Hollis Maynell. With time and effort he located her address. She lived in New York City. He wrote her a letter introducing himself and inviting her to correspond. The next day he was shipped overseas for service in World War II.

During the next year and one-month the two grew to know each other through the mail. Each letter was a seed falling on a fertile heart. A Romance was budding. Blanchard requested a photograph, but she refused. She felt that if he really cared, it wouldn't matter what she looked like.

When the day finally came for him to return from Europe, they scheduled their first meeting - 7:00 pm at Grand Central Station in New York.

"You'll recognize me, " she wrote, "by the red rose I'll be wearing on my lapel." So at 7:00 he was in the station looking for a girl whose heart he loved, but whose face he'd never seen.

I'll let Mr. Blanchard tell you what happened: A young women was coming toward me, her figure long and slim. Her blonde hair lay back in curls from her delicate ears; her eyes were blue as flowers. Her lips and chin had a gentle firmness, and in her pale green suit she was like springtime come alive. I started toward her, entirely forgetting to notice that she was not wearing a rose. As I moved, a small, provocative smile curved her lips. "Going my way, sailor?" she murmured. Almost uncontrollably I made one step closer to her, and then I saw Hollis Maynell. She was standing almost directly behind the girl. A women well past 40, she had graying hair tucked under a worn hat. She was more than plump, her thick-ankled feet thrust into low-heeled shoes. The girl in the green suit was walking quickly away. I felt as though I split in two, so keen was my desire to follow her, and yet so deep was my longing for the women whose spirit had truly companioned me and upheld my own.

And there she stood. Her pale, plump face was gentle and sensible, her gray eyes had a warm and kindly twinkle. I did not hesitate. My fingers gripped the small worn blue leather copy of the book that was something precious, something perhaps even better than love, a friendship for which I had been and must ever be grateful.

I squared my shoulders and saluted and held out the book to the women, even though while I spoke I felt choked by the bitterness of my disappointment. "I'm Lieutenant John Blanchard, and you must be Miss Maynell. I am so glad you could meet me; may I take you to dinner?"

The women's face broadened into a tolerant smile. "I don't know what this is about, son," she answered, "but the young lady in the green suit who just went by, she begged me to wear this rose on my coat. And she said if you were to ask me out to dinner, I should go and tell you that she is waiting for you in the big restaurant across the street. She said it was some kind of test!"

It's not difficult to understand and admire Miss Maynell's wisdom. The true nature of a heart is seen in it's response to the unattractive. "Tell me whom you love," Houssaye wrote, "And I will tell you who you are."

I think many people nowadays look more for outward beauty than inner beauty eventhough the inner beauty is the most important and the one which will last. Sadly enough, not many people think that way. I know I do. And I'm glad she does too. :)

Yours,

Aaron

Malaysia vs China

Malaysia has yet again proved their football has no quality. Imagine getting beaten 5-1 by China. Within 15 minutes China's Han Peng scored the first goal. Then, on the 36th minute, Shao Jiayi scored the second goal. The third goal was scored by Wang Dong at the 51st minute. Then, the fourth again by Han Peng at the 55th minute. And then Malaysian Mahayuddin grabbed a consolation goal for Malaysia at the 74th minute. China scored once through Wang Dong again at the 90th minute.

If Malaysia had anyone to blame, it would be themselves. They displayed some lousy soccer. When they did not allow Manchester United to come, they should redeem themselves by playing their best. And Mohamed Hammam thinks he knows best. The useless coach, Norizan Bakar should be burnt or something (pun totally intended). Now only he wants to change the line-up. After a humiliating 5-1 match.

Other match results:
Thailand 1 - 1 Iraq
Australia 1 - 1 Oman
Vietnam 2 - 0 UAE
Japan 1 - 1 Qatar
Iran 0 - 0 Uzbekistan
Indonesia 2 - 1 Bahrain

Yeah.. Malaysia is the only South East Asian country who lost. And lost so humiliatingly as well. I guess in some area Malaysia memang tak boleh. I wonder what happened to the patriotic spirit in me.. Nah.. I never had one. So much for turning 50 years. Celebrating each decade with a goal conceded by China. Merely a coincidence? I doubt it.

Kicking off,

Aaron

Popularity

Recently, I just realised something. In every stage of our lives we meet new people, then we become friends, and then after that stage ends, we will not be so close to that friend anymore and then we will make new friends again as we enter another stage. The cycle just goes on and on. Sure, there are some that we still keep in contact with but somehow or rather some of them just prefers spending time with their new friends. I guess when you have new things, the old things don't matter that much anymore. I'm glad I still have friends that have been my friends for many years. But sadly enough, there are some whom I don't really talk much to anymore.

Another thing is that popularity is earned but not for you to keep. After you enter another stage of life you are no longer popular unless you're some big shot or something. You gotta earn the popularity back again. It is easier for those who are good-looking, rich or smart(not geeks), cool and have some strong leadership skills. Hmm.. If so, why aren't I that popular? Nah, just kidding. Come to think of it, I don't want to be all that popular. I'm contented with the stage of my popularity now. I don't want people stalking me. It's also creepy. But then again, not everyone thinks like me. A lot of people crave for popularity so much that they might even like the idea of people stalking them. They like being the centre of attention and to know that many people are looking at them with marvel, with eyes unblinked, jaws dropping and mouth drooling as they walk past in the cafeteria. These people have no life. I feel happier if I can be on my own enjoying a quiet game of cs than people breathing down my neck. Oh well...

But no matter what, we still see these people around. And some people basically worships them. But I don't. So what if he's the richest guy in college. So what if she's the smartest girl on campus. At least you know I won't be drooling over them. If you see me drooling, I might be looking at food. So yea...

Popularizing,

Aaron

Who am I

Who Am I (2)

Verse 1
Who am I
That the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I
That the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Pre-Chorus
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You're

Chorus
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours
I am Yours

Verse 2
Who Am I
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again
Who Am I
That the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

Bridge
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
'Cause I am Yours
I am Yours

The above lyrics is by Casting Crowns and this song has been stuck in my head for the last couple of days. It a very nice song and well, I thought I would let you guys have the song stuck in your head too. :p

Gap

As I was driving to college this morning, I heard over the radio that Manchester United is finalizing a transfer deal to buy Carlos Tevez for about £20 million. This, of course will be a big and good buy for Manchester United. Carlos Tevez has been known for his spot-kicks and goals. And apparently, he has been a Reds fan for a long time. This is certainly good news. But I'm not too sure whether United will be able to seal the deal. If they do, United will be a very strong team and certainly the team to watch next season.

I met Jason today at 1u. He was going to catch Transformers. I thought of watching Die Hard 4 but she said she wanted to watch with me. So, maybe tomorrow or something I'll go watch with her. So, I bought some clothings. Just a short sleeve shirt and a t-shirt cost me nearly 200 bucks. It's just a "gap" business and their price are pretty gappy. I don't really mind just as long as I liked it. They have this new "red" thing there, where apparently half of the profits from the sale of the products go to aid those with HIV and AIDS. But, the range is not my taste. I mean when you wear it you can't really tell if it's from Gap or some pasar malam store. Oh well!!

Time for a game of cs with some friends.

Till then.

Gapping off,

Aaron

Headshave?

I just read about the bet Ronaldo proposed to Alex. Apparently, Ronaldo said he will shave his head if he doesn't score 20 goals and if he does, Alex in turn will have to shave his. Either way, we'll have a "Player of the Year" or manager bald. Personally, if Alex does take up the bet, he'll lose. It will be interesting to see him bald.

I've just got this crazy idea to shave my head. After all, it will be an experience as I've never shave my head before. And even girls are doing it now. First we heard about Britney Spears.. Then we heard about Sharifah Amani. And who knows, it might even look good on me. And it will be interesting to see the reactions of other people. Nah... Just some crazy idea which I'll probably never do in my lifetime. The reactions might be more on the negative side anyway. I'd probably dye my hair instead. Thinking maybe some brown highlights might do the job. Well, just maybe.

Gotta go now. Time to watch some tv programme.

Yours,
Aaron

Transformers

Well.. My first blog..
Hopefully this allows me some time off my busy schedule and do something not as taxing..

Today, after like 8 hours of lecture, I drove home through some mad traffic and now gotta finish those assignments..

Anyway, Transformers was really good. Watched it with her yesterday. Best show I've seen this year and a standing ovation should go out to Michael Bay.

Bumblebee

Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf

To those who haven't yet watched it, this is one movie you shouldn't miss. :p

Well, gotta get back to my assignments.

Till then.

Yours,

Aaron
